Position Description: As footwear developer for See Kai Run, you will coordinate every aspect of Children’s footwear development with our manufacturing partners in China and assist with footwear programs for National Accounts.
Primary responsibilities: Coordinate the product development process from brief stage through final prototyping, fit trial and final production for multiple brands. Create clear and concise product specifications/communicate See Kai Run Best Practices. Execute timely approval of all production and fit confirmation samples to ensure smooth transition into commercialization. Track and monitor development process according to time and action calendar. Keep samples organized and detailed notes throughout development. Facilitate timely creation, delivery and approval of all relevant technical information (sketches, CADs, lasts, patterns, blue-prints, etc.). Participate in the diagnosis of fit/wear and commercialization issues and ensure products are tested successfully for mass production and clearly communicate findings. Communicate clearly and concisely to all relevant stakeholders, especially overseas partners. Support in researching and sourcing materials appropriate for each product. Work with suppliers to find correct and innovative material that meets product goal. Participate in cost review meetings and help identify areas to improve costing. Assist the web development team in presenting product images and copy in the most brand enhancing manner. Assist marketing team in photo shoots, catalog creation and development of all marketing assets. Assist in sample ordering, management and distribution. Assist in-house and outside sales team in understanding features and benefits of our products. Monitor the development of Key Account product programs to ensure quality and timely execution. This position reports to the Director of Design and Development.
Position requirements: 2-3 years in experience in footwear or apparel. 2 – 3 years in retail and/or product development. Familiarity with product specification creation. Familiarity with key account ordering process/timelines. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate with vendors, reps, distributors and retail customers worldwide. Comfort in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment. Ability to work independently with strong initiative yet also collaboratively with different divisions. Must be proficient in MS Office applications---Outlook, Excel and Word as well as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. A passion for product, a sense of style and a love for kids!
